Welcome to Class 6
Autumn Term 1
A selection of photos of a new year.
Make and use a printing stamp.
We used the runic alphabet to create designs for our stamps.
This lesson was a real hit!
How do the liquids we drink affect our teeth?
A simple experiment with hard boiled eggs and a variety of sweet and acidic drinks. Look out for the glass that holds water and milk!
A very important day.
We wrote poems called 'Silence'.
Some of us read them out at the Peace Tree in the Back Fields.
Some of us read them out in a special year 4 assembly.
But most importantly, it gave us time to reflect on war.
Time at the Peace Tree to remember the 46 men of St. Saviour's who died in the Great War.
The digestive system
We drew life-sized diagrams of the digestive system - great!
A visit to ST. Mark's School for an Advent workshop.
A chance to use some real festive materials - gold and silver gilt!
Here we are covering a 3D star.
Here we are with our Sutton Hoo helmets - what works of art Class 6.
What a frightening lot of Anglo Saxons we are!!
Spring Term 3
What is sound?
We carried out experiments to find out.
Here we are hitting a drum that has a few grains of rice on the skin. We watch to see the effect of hitting the drum lightly and heavily.
Relax for kids
These classes show us to be calm and help with our concentration.
We carry out stretches and breathing exercises - which is all good fun!
Every Monday this term we have Tai kwondo
Tai kwando is a martial art that is characterised by head high kicks, jumping and spinning kicks.
We love it!
Fancy making a snowman?
... not quite enough but plenty to get excited about!
Here we are interviewing our partner about the benefits of Korfball?
The latest fitness strategy for waking us up in the mornings and afternoons.
Happy New Year buddy!
We talked to each other about how to give complements.
Once we had the idea we were off - complements were being given to everyone!
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, characterised by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.....................
.................. and we just can't get enough of it!!
Each week we focus on a different artist and painting skill.
This week we studied the work of George -Pierre Seurat.
We considered his technique of stippling and in the use of tools to create an 'impressionistic' effect.
March - The First Day of Spring
English - Drama linked to The Spiderwick Chronicles
Here we have Jared, Simon, Mallory and Mum in the kitchen.
In the morning the children go down for breakfast and the kitchen is an absolute mess.
Was it Jared who had made the mess?
Could it really have been the Boggart?
Look at our facial expressions and actions. Who is who?
